in the kitchen

i like to have my kids help out
as much as they can in the kitchen
especially since they're a little older.

on a recent trip to the library a few
weeks ago, carson brought
home a kids in the kitchen cookbook.

he asked me if i would help him
make one of the recipes.
i said sure.

for the last two weeks we've
enjoyed preparing this simple
recipe together twice as a family.

i thought i would share our
modified version with all of you.
here it is...

chicken and broccoli bake

ingredients:
two cans of cream of chicken condensed soup
4 tablespoons mayo
1 teaspoon curry powder
pack of four chicken breasts
broccoli head
3/4 cup milk
16 oz grated mozzarella cheese

method:
1. pour soup in mixing bowl
2. add 4 tablespoons mayo
3. add 1 teaspoon curry powder
4. add your milk and stir
5. roughly cut the chicken breasts into an ovenproof dish
6. break the broccoli head into florets
and add to dish
7. spoon the sauce over the chicken and broccoli
8. bake an hour in a 350° (175° C) preheated oven
9. 15 minutes before end sprinkle grated cheese on top
10. Return to oven to finish

we serve it alone or with a side of corn.

let me know if you decide
to try out the recipe.
enjoy!
