he sees past our mess

as i turned the corner and walked into the kitchen, the bouquet of dead flowers still sitting in a jar on the windowsill caught my eye. i walked over to them and almost tossed the whole bunch out until i discovered the white ones. they were still so beautiful. so pure.

how had i not noticed them before? they must have been hidden, covered up, overtaken by the muck.

in noticing the white flowers, the Lord began to speak to my heart.

He sees past all my muck...past all the messes...all the mistakes I've made...past all my sins...all my regrets...He sees past all my so called imperfections and sees me.

He looks past all those things my mind sometimes dwells on and He sees His wonderful creation.

His marvellous, wonderful creation!

and in case you need more convincing...
psalm 139:14 says,
"i will praise thee; for i am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."

friends, like those white flowers, don't be overtaken. don't let your muck determine who you think you are. look past that and right into His word.

He has called us marvellous. let's own it!!

be blessed this sweet sunday.

  1. Girl! So true… it's so good to know that my God sees me, not my mess!
