Tote bag ministry

i'm so grateful for my friend, teresa.

every sunday night at church,
teresa blesses each child with
his or her own special bag full
of the yummiest treats.

teresa sets aside time once a week
to fill up individual bags with candy
for all the kids at our church.
i asked her why she does this.
she said she likes to see
all the kids smile.
how sweet is that?

giving gifts is something i enjoy as well.

so this gave me a great ministry idea.

i'll call it...
the tote bag ministry

this ministry would be perfect
for anyone who enjoys giving gifts.
it would also be great for any
mom who is longing to be
active in ministry, yet still
has little children running around
and not much extra time.

i always keep a basket full of gifts
at my house for special occasions.

i rummaged through that basket
and grabbed a handful of sweets.

i also looked through my crafting stash
and found some white tags, a pencil,
and some washi tape.

i put them all into my tote bag and
off to the local coffee shop i went.

after ordering my tea, i pulled
out the tags and quickly got
to work with my pencil.

each tag had a few kind words
written on it and was decorated
with cute birdie washi tape.

once my tea was finished,
all the gifts were placed on the table
for the staff and i quietly snuck out.

just a little bit of kindness to
brighten someone else's day.

these gifts were so simple and didn't
take me much time to prepare.

*a perfect/simple ministry for
anyone to be a part of*

since i enjoyed doing this,
i plan to keep little gifts in my
tote bag so that wherever i go,
whenever the Holy Spirit prompts me,
i can pass along a little something
to bless someone else.

thank you, teresa, for blessing
my kids each week and for
sparking such a fun ministry idea!
