nothing is more frustrating than having kids at your feet while you are trying to cook!

Ella loves to be in the kitchen when I am.  She loves it so much that she wants to help me do whatever it is that I am doing...cracking eggs, stirring, measuring and pouring.  I sometimes take this time for granted and tell her to "go play" because it's the easy thing to do, but this day was different.  I decided to fill up the sink with a bunch of bubbles and I gave her one sponge and a couple of plastic bowls.  She spent the whole hour washing, playing, and talking to me while I cooked.
What a joy it was to actually "spend time" with her in the kitchen and not be frustrated!!

  1. Melissa,
I stumbled upon your blog and I absolutely love it!! I am a stay-at-home mom also and it is really easy to get discouraged at times. I also noticed that one of your favorite books is Created to be His Help Meet. I read that book about 4 years ago and it has been totally life changing for me and I refer it to women all of the time. God put that book in my hands right before Clay told me that he wanted to preach full-time and had I not read it, I probably would have been a huge stumbling block. I am ashamed to say this about myself, but it is the truth. I will definitely be following your blog. It has a lot of wonderful things on it! Keep up the great work! You are definitely an encouragement to me. Hope all is well for you and James and your sweet family. Your children are absolutely beautiful! Take care.

    Sincerely,
    Shelly Gentry

Thanks for taking the time to read this blog. Feel free to leave a comment of encouragement anytime. Be blessed and hope to hear from you soon!!
