Ella loves to be in the kitchen when I am. She loves it so much that she wants to help me do whatever it is that I am doing...cracking eggs, stirring, measuring and pouring. I sometimes take this time for granted and tell her to "go play" because it's the easy thing to do, but this day was different. I decided to fill up the sink with a bunch of bubbles and I gave her one sponge and a couple of plastic bowls. She spent the whole hour washing, playing, and talking to me while I cooked.
What a joy it was to actually "spend time" with her in the kitchen and not be frustrated!!

ReplyDeleteI stumbled upon your blog and I absolutely love it!! I am a stay-at-home mom also and it is really easy to get discouraged at times. I also noticed that one of your favorite books is Created to be His Help Meet. I read that book about 4 years ago and it has been totally life changing for me and I refer it to women all of the time. God put that book in my hands right before Clay told me that he wanted to preach full-time and had I not read it, I probably would have been a huge stumbling block. I am ashamed to say this about myself, but it is the truth. I will definitely be following your blog. It has a lot of wonderful things on it! Keep up the great work!
